I think Smalley's in Stillwater has pretty darn good BBQ for a Minnesota joint, but I'm really a fan of good Jerk barbeque and always have to try some when I head up there for my annual fall trip. This visit didn't disappoint. Full review here.
Dining and culinary news from a food enthusiast in Southwest Minneapolis. Hey, if you ever get down to Lake City, try Rabbit Bakery. They have a small sandwich selection for lunch. We've only been there twice in the last two years, but each time the sandwiches were amazing. This past weekend, they had a braised beef sandwich (literally a chunk of melt in your mouth, very tender beef - no predone slices of packaged meat)with a horseradish spread and local greens on their own baguette bread. They also had a smoked chicken and apple salad sandwich with a coarse grain mustard that was very nice. The chicken was very nicely infused with smoke. If you're ever down that way, check them out.
Sold on both accounts!
